Just an update
by Daniel on Jun.09, 2009, under GasMate
Ive been working on GasMate in the evenings this week working on bugs and cleaning up the code. Since so many people are asking about certain features I have yet to implement, I quickly created a roadmap for development of GasMate. I want to get all the features working before I start to work on multiple cars. The goal is each level completed in around 2 weeks. When the time for multiple cars approaches, I will need to change the database, but I will work on either something to migrate the data or give instructions on how to import an older export(with modifications) into the new version.
GasMate Beta .21d
by Daniel on Jun.07, 2009, under GasMate
.21 went through 4 iterations before I was satisfied.
This release will install seamlessly over .20c. Changes this version:
- Added export to CSV(works with excel!)
- Added “delete this row” buttons so that you do not loose the whole table
- Put in UI elements where they will eventually be for import, change of units
Cab: http://lulzsoft.com/download.php?id=4
As always you will need the .NET 3.5 CF and SqlCe3.5

by Daniel on Jun.07, 2009, under GasMate
Features I plan on working on today:
- Import/Export to/from csv for easy use in spreadsheet apps- Export Done
- Trying to figure out whether to nuke whole table first
- “Delete this row” button instead of the whole nukage Done!
I need your feedback! Please let me know what you think and if there is anything I should change.

Beta .20c
by Daniel on Jun.05, 2009, under GasMate
.20 had some………..bugs and went through a few iterations……
Changes since .13
- Custom tab to allow custom maintenance and gas types
- Custom types stored to files
- Bug fixes on logic
- Moved registry settings and database creation into app so that they are not removed when uninstalled
What does this mean? From now on the database will be left behind on uninstalls so that you do not loose data! Same goes for the custom gas/maintenance types.
YOU WILL LOOSE DATA IN UPGRADING. PLEASE BACKUP THE SDF FILE. FROM HERE ON HOWEVER, THIS WILL NOT BE AN ISSUE.

Logo!
by Daniel on Jun.04, 2009, under GasMate
So I have browsed the internets and finally found a great looking icon!
I have also made some slight changes to the UI but I will not release a new version until I have the database being preserved.

GasMate Beta .13
by Daniel on Jun.04, 2009, under GasMate
So I skipped a number……. beta.12 was just not enough to bother releasing as it was mostly UI tweaks. Changes since .11:
- Dynamic column width based on screen res(hey Microsoft, make this easier!!!)
- new awesome settings page with registry settings for warnings
- new gas types
- bug fixes in SQL statements
The next version will most likely be Beta .20, which will have a logo, and possibly the ability to delete a row instead of nuking the whole table. I also need to work on the database not being removed.
What do I need from you? FEEDBACK! Please let me know what I can do to make this app better!
YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR DATA UNLESS YOU COPY OUT THE SDF FILE THEN BACK IN AFTER INSTALLING

GasMate Beta .11!
by Daniel on Jun.02, 2009, under GasMate
Here is the latest iteration of GasMate. I have made some slight UI tweaks and have started on the maintenance part. Right now the values are hard-coded but I will eventually have a settings page which will allow the user to set the intervals for maintenance warnings. I have set the flags in the CAB but it still is not respecting this.
The next step as I have said will be a settings page, and I will need to learn how to use the registry for that…..shouldn’t be too hard.
Please download and test this and let me know if there are any bugs, or anything that should be added such as other maintenance or gas types etc….

First Beta Version! Beta .1
by Daniel on Jun.01, 2009, under GasMate
I finished up a new version of GasMate that will now track maintenance. I am still working on getting the cab to work right with not removing everything, so until then, you must back up your sdf file if you dont want to loose anything. Keep in mind that the database HAS changed however, so you should just uninstall and reinstall this version. I do not see significant changes to the database from here on.
Please help me find bugs and suggest changes/features!

GasMate Alpha .03
by Daniel on Jun.01, 2009, under GasMate
Before I grab dinner I thought I would throw up a new version.
NOTE: THE DB HAS CHANGED. OLD DATA WILL BE LOST.
I added some new fields…..let me know if this looks like enough. I also need ideas as to what to track in the maintenance section.
