Non ppc devices will not work at this time.

Is the BJII a smartphone or PPC….there are different cabs for this. Did you try the Microsoft sanctioned downloads first?
June 7th, 2009 on 2:00 pm
Frankly, I’m not sure I know the different between smartphone & PPC – but a quick search said Smartphone.
I did download and install both the MSFT Compact .NET for Windows Mobile 3.5 and Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP1 for Windows Mobile. That’s when I got the previous post’s errors (public key error). Applying the above CABs, gave me an application error (but now that I know the phone is not a PPC – and I shouldn’t have installed them – it really doesn’t matter). I can’t see anything on the device that show the SQL Server is installed on the device (e.g. doesn’t show in remove programs).
It’s not a bid deal. I’m guessing I have something screwed up in the phone – doesn’t seem that SQL 3.5 is installed on the phone. I’ll chase that.
Thanks.

I just added the other cab files, maybe those will help. Stupid VS2K8 just throws all the cabs on the phone automatically so its hard to tell what is needed sometimes.

Thanks. I’m past the SQL problem now. Here’s the latest:
GasMate.exe
NotSupportedException
at Microsfot.AGL.Common.MISC.HandleAr(PAL_ERROR ar)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control._InitInstance(WNT wnt, UInt32 dwStyle)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ctor(WNT wnt)
at System.Windows.Forms.TabControl.ctor()
at SmartDeviceProject1.Form1.InitializeComponent()
at SmartDeviceProject1.Form1.ctor()
at SmartDeviceProject1.Program.Main()
Don’t sweat it; my phone just may be so messed up right now.
Thanks for getting me past where I was.

After looking into it, I have been developing this for WM6 PPCs, and standard does not seem to support tabs. I am downloading the standard SDK to see if I can change the target platform to make it work.

Well, I downloaded and installed the two cab files and then installed GasMate and still got the message:
“GasMate.exe
MissingMethodException
File or assembly name
‘System.Data.SqlServerCe,
Version=3.5.0.0,Culture=neutral
PublicKeyToken=3BE235DF1C8D2AD3’,
or one of its dependencies, was not
found.”
Running on a Samsung Epix with v.6 installed along with .NET 3.5.
I just copied the two CAB files linked above to my phone and then executed them, installed GasMate and got this message.

1. After SSCEDeviceRuntime-ENU.msi is installed, the files can be found here for ARM devices:
1. x86 systems: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition\v3.5\Devices\wce500\armv4i
2. x64 systems: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition\v3.5\Devices\wce500\armv4i
2. Copy the 2 cab files (not the dev one) to your device and run both of them to install.
1. sqlce.ppc.wce5.armv4i.CAB
2. sqlce.repl.ppc.wce5.armv4i.CAB
3. You need to install both the CORE package and the REPL package, and Soft Reset the mobile device.

Got it working! Removed previous SQL cab files, downloaded the ones above, installed SQL cab files, rebooted and installed Gas Mate and it worked!
Thanks.

HTC Fuze phone
16Gb memory card
OS: WM 6.5 Pro
CE OS 5.2.23009 (Build 23009.5.3.0)
ROM version: 5.11.502.2 WWE
ROM Image: DynastyROM.v.1.0.2-BETA – xda-developers
I have loaded the sqlcereplppcwce5armv4i.cab and gasmate_rc.42b.CAB all loads OK but then I get:
An unexpected error has occurred in GasMate.exe.
Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.
File or assembly name ‘System.Data.SqlServerCe, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3BE235DF1C8D2AD3’, or one of its dependencies, was not found.
I realize this is the same error as state above but I am not running a stock ROM image. Hope this helps……
